What Are Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify
and How Do They Work?

There are two types of facial lines and wrinkles, static and dynamic. Static wrinkles are visible when the face is at rest. They result from the aging process and the loss of elastic tissue. Dynamic wrinkles, on the other hand, appear when the muscles contract due to facial expressions, such as smiling, squinting, or frowning.

Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify are wrinkle-relaxing injectable neuromodulators that temporarily block the nerve signals responsible for muscle contractions. That helps smooth away dynamic wrinkles, including frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, worry lines, and laugh lines, reversing the visible signs of aging.

How Are Botox and Dysport Different?

Botox and Dysport are neurotoxins, each with a slightly different formulation of the Botulinum toxin type A, but they both work similarly, virtually erasing fine lines and wrinkles. The main difference between the two is that Botox is more concentrated, making it ideal for smaller areas and stubborn wrinkles such as crow’s feet. You may experience minor bruising at the injection site, which should soon resolve. Most men and women report a smoother, more youthful appearance within 7-14 days after treatment, with the effects taking 2-4 weeks to peak.
